The Omni Hotel {Kelley and Luke}

Rain wouldn’t stop Kelley and Luke from getting married last Saturday night at The Omni Hotel just outside of Denver.  Kelley was absolutely stunning and Luke was an equally handsome groom.  The venue was very nice as well despite the rain clouds that threatened her outdoor wedding.  To see all of their images or to order prints from their wedding, follow this link.

Kelley knows practically everyone in Denver and so much of her wedding came off because of her friends who own wedding service companies.  From her cake to her coordination, so much of their wedding happened through friends and family.

Magnolia Hotel Wedding {Katie & Steve}

Magnolia Hotel was the site last Saturday night for Katie & Steve’s wedding.  I have to tell you that we have been waiting a long time for this one.  Not only because they are one of the most fun couples we have ever met, but also because it was our first Magnolia Hotel Wedding.  The Magnolia is one of Denver’s finest, historic hotels and presents a uniquely challenging setting for wedding photography.

For the entire day, we were using off-camera flash.  Nearly 100% of our shots wouldn’t have come out without the use of external flashes!  This is one of the reasons we were so excited about this wedding.  We knew that if it was pulled off well, we would get some stunning shots from this event.  Check it out and let us know what you think and don’t forget to comment.

Your photos were exactly what Katie and Steve wanted. They are all about thinking outside the box. Very unique and one of a kind. You listened to what they had to say and did what they wanted with your style and professionalism. Your assistant was amazing from wrangling the different families to where they needed to be to getting my shoes up to my hotel room so I would not have to leave the party.

Wonderful pictures! I know Katie and all the family were extremely happy. You did a great job dealing with the venue and SO MANY different people. You really did go above and beyond; I’ve been to MANY weddings and your pictures are some of the best I have seen; very creative and beautifully shot.

Thank you Marguerite and Sheila! It was such a special honor to be part of their wedding!! What a fabulous couple!

Katie - December 9, 2011 - 7:22 am

I will never get tired of looking at these gorgeous photos! Every time I look at the story you told through images I relive that special day over and over. Not only am I so pleased with our final product, we could not have worked with better people. Kelli and Bill are such a sweet, talented couple who love to capture a good love story. It is so easy to see how in love they are themselves, so between the Nixons and the newlyweds, there is just love everywhere!!!

Ashley and Clinton ~ Monterey, CA Wedding

We had the awesome pleasure of shooting a destination wedding in California a couple of weeks ago.  We traveled to Monterey, CA and shot Ashley and Clinton’s wedding on the ocean.  If you have never had the privilege of traveling to the Central Coast of California, I wholeheartedly recommend it.  Here are a few of our favs from their beautiful wedding.  This wedding was coordinated by Sarah Ward Events.

Amy and Don – Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding

Devil’s Thumb Ranch was the scene for Amy and Don’s wedding this past weekend … and what a beautiful setting it was!  Completely rustic without being old, the Ranch sits just at the base of the mountains in the Frazier Valley.  Their wedding was on the lawn, followed by a reception with Music by “Hunker Down.”

Below is a bit of video I took of the Hunker Down band. They were an absolute blast to have at a reception and completely different. Typical music for a reception includes the “Electric Slide” and the “Cha Cha Boogie.” I can assure you that Hunker Down doesn’t even know either of those two songs.;-)

Cielo at Castle Pines

Cielo at Castle Pines is a spectacular wedding venue located just South of Denver, CO and this is the first of two times we have the privilege of shooting there this year. Kaitlin and Seth were blessed with an absolutely beautiful day to exchange vows. They are a knockout couple with so much support from their loving families. See the rest of their wedding photos from Cielo here.

From one Denver wedding photographer to another, your work here is stunning! I love the lighting and processing of #9, the shot of the flower girls, and the perfect capture of the silhouette and flame. Beautiful work!

Bill - July 11, 2011 - 2:52 pm

Kevin ~ Thank you so much. We use a lot of off-camera speed lighting to get the effects we use. Our goal is to never use Photoshop to manipulate an image. So we shoot with a photojounalistic style using available light enhanced with off-camera flashes. Other than the flower girls, those images you mentioned are a product of off-camera and available lighting. Cheers!
